Terms of use
These are the terms under which you use Fileroom (the “app” or “service”). They're kept short on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to support@fileroom.app.
1. License to use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Fileroom on devices you own or control, for personal and reasonable commercial use. You may not redistribute the app, decompile binaries, or use the trademark “Fileroom” or its wordmark without written permission.
2. Your responsibilities
- The files you convert are your responsibility. Don't use Fileroom to handle material you don't have the right to.
- Some output formats use lossy codecs (JPEG, MP3, AAC, etc.). You're responsible for keeping originals where fidelity matters.
- Encrypted formats (AES-256 ZIP, PDF passwords) are only as strong as the password you choose. We don't store, recover, or transmit your passwords.
3. Subscriptions and refunds
Fileroom has a free tier and an optional Pro tier. Pro is sold as a monthly, yearly, or one-time lifetime in-app purchase. Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) — cancel, change, or request refunds through your device's subscription settings or directly with Apple / Google. We don't handle billing ourselves and can't issue refunds on their behalf, but we're happy to help you contact them.
4. Free-tier limits
The free tier is rate-limited: 10 conversions per local day, files up to 50 MB, batches up to 5. These limits are enforced on-device and reset at local midnight. Pro lifts the caps. Limits may change in future versions; any change applies going forward, not retroactively.
5. Open-source components
Fileroom is built on open-source software including FFmpeg, libarchive, zlib, libwebp, pdfium, ExifInterface, and others. Their licenses (LGPL, BSD, MIT, Apache 2.0) are listed in About → Acknowledgements in the app, along with version numbers. Where a license requires it (LGPL — FFmpeg) we link to source for the dynamically linked builds.
6. Disclaimers
Fileroom is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep conversions correct, but we can't guarantee that every file format conversion will be lossless or produce identical output across versions. Keep your originals.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including loss of data. On any direct claim, our aggregate liability is capped at the amount you paid for the app over the prior 12 months.
7. Termination
You can stop using Fileroom and delete the app at any time. We can suspend the service or specific features if required by law, by Apple or Google's store policies, or to address a security issue — we'll communicate clearly when this happens.
8. Changes
These terms may evolve. Material changes will move the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer resides (currently Jordan). Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country still apply.
